Japan coronavirus death toll is 697
Japan's coronavirus death toll has reached 697. Total number of confirmed virus cases is 16,120.
Japan has tested just 0.185 percent of its population (a small amount compared to other countries). However, Japan seems to have some the lowest death rates in the world. The medical system has avoided an overloading crisis. The number of cases are declining.

Japan certainly experienced its first weekend after the state of emergency was lifted in 39 prefectures, where restaurants and shopping streets enjoyed what looks like normalcy for the first time in roughly a month.
