Igor Notre Dame and Hunchback and Notre Dame Cathedral Renovations

When I think of Notre Dame, something comes to mind: The Hunchback of Notre Dame. That film was interesting.

I sometimes wondered why there is a film called Igor. The hunchback is called Igor. The main character has become a Mad Scientist himself. His attempt at creating an evil monster backfires.

The real situation at the Notre Dame Cathedral is not funny, though. French President Emmanuel Macron says Paris' iconic Notre Dame cathedral will be rebuilt in about 5 years. Architects have challenges with this massive plan. Some local residents are concerned about lead emissions that were released as the cathedral burned and the lead spire smoldered. The interesting video from Youtube describes the situation.

Pictured above is a small paper model of the Notre Dame de Paris. You could buy one of these toys for a few dollars to put the pieces together. Rebuilding the fire-ravaged Notre Dame Cathedral is the problem France needs to solve. Nobody could have predicted that such a huge fire would happen on a famous historical building. It is amazing how much money has been donated already to rebuild the building - more than a billion dollars. It is fortunate that some 200,000 bees inhabiting hives on the roof of Notre-Dame cathedral survived the inferno.

Notre-Dame de Paris means "Our Lady of Paris" is a medieval Catholic cathedral on the Île de la Cité in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. The cathedral is considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. It is believed that before the period of Christianity in France, a Gallo-Roman temple dedicated to Jupiter stood on the site of Notre-Dame. Evidence for this is the Pillar of the Boatmen, discovered in 1710. In July 1801, Napoleon Bonaparte signed an agreement to perform restorations to the cathedral.

The cathedral had modern renovations. The stone masonry of the cathedral's exterior had deteriorated in the 19th and 20th century due to increased air pollution in Paris, which accelerated erosion of decorations and discolored the stone. By the late 1980s, several gargoyles and turrets had fallen off or become too loose. A decade-long renovation program began in 1991 and replaced much of the exterior. A discreet system of electrical wires, not visible from below, was also installed on the roof to deter pigeons. The west face was cleaned and restored in time for millennium celebrations in December 1999.

On 15 April 2019 the cathedral caught fire. This caused the collapse of the spire, the oak frame and lead roof. Amazingly, the cathedral escaped complete destruction. The structural damage was not severe enough to cause a total collapse. French President Emmanuel Macron vowed that Notre-Dame would be restored. Approximately 500 firefighters helped to battle the fire. Many artifacts were saved. An international architectural competition will be launched to redesign the roof and spire.

Built in the 12th and 13th centuries, the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris received one of its most significant overhauls between 1844 and 1864.

How is Stripe different from PayPal?

Stripe has 1 option only: the checkout process resides on your website. However, Stripe securely handles the transaction from its end. You do have the choice though of fully customizing the look of it to match your brand. One of the main reasons to choose PayPal over Stripe is name-brand recognition.

The good news is that for most online transactions, PayPal and Stripe charge exactly the same amount. However, Stripe also accepts ACH transactions, which PayPal doesn't, and offers them for just 0.8% per transfer. Stripe's in-person payments solution is still in beta, so it isn't actually widely available.

What are ACH transactions?

ACH transactions consist of direct deposits and direct payments, including B2B transactions, government transactions, and consumer transactions. An originator starts a direct deposit or direct payment transaction using the useful ACH Network.

Stripe is an interesting software company. Stripe is a great American technology company based in San Francisco, California. Its software allows individuals and businesses to make and receive payments over the Internet. It was founded in 2009. The CEO is Patrick Collison (From 2010). Number of employees is more than 2000.

Iran Economy GDP is expected to decline this year

The economy of Iran is a mixed and transition economy with a large public sector. About 60% of Iran's economy is centrally planned. The economy is focused on oil and gas production. However, more than 40 industries are directly involved in the Tehran Stock Exchange. This was one of the best performing exchanges in the world over the past decade. Iran has 10% of the world's proven oil reserves and 15% of its gas reserves. Iran is certainly an energy superpower. Most of the country's exports are oil and gas. This accounted for a majority of government revenue in 2010. In 2012, oil exports contributed to about 80% of Iranian public revenue. Oil export revenues enabled Iran to amass well over $135 billion in foreign exchange reserves as of December 2016. Iran has one of the fastest rates of development in telecommunication globally.

Both the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund estimate Iran's gross domestic product is expected to decline by about 9% this year.

Amazon Stock Creates Optimistic Long-Term Expectations

Amazon has many opportunities. The company right now is inventing new businesses and expanding in different countries all over the world. Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) certainly seems like a high-growth future business. Amazon shares reflect long-term expectations for the cash flow stream of the company. There is much more growth possible in the global e-commerce world.

Amazon's e-commerce business has a relatively small share of retail sales. Over the last 12 months, Amazon has created $171 billion of net sales in its retail business. Global retail sales reached an estimated $25 trillion last year. This means that Amazon's market share of global retail sales is only about 1.2%. There is still much room for growth.

Amazon.com is a large E-commerce company. Amazon.com, Inc., is an enormous American multinational technology company based in Seattle that focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. It is considered one of the Big giant 4 tech companies, along with Google, Apple (many investors find the Apple company "a-peel-ing"), and Facebook. The CEO and founder of the gigantic Amazon company is Jeff Bezos.

Amazon (AMZN) is increasing its presence in India. The generous company plans to give $1 billion into small businesses in India over the next 5 years. Massive company Amazon wants to help manufacturers, resellers, shops and brands in India. Currently, more than 550,000 sellers use the super Amazon India marketplace. More than 60,000 Indian manufacturers and brands export products to customers worldwide using Amazon's capacious platform. By giving to those businesses, Amazon expects that it can bring more than a substantial 10 million local business online by 2025. Amazon's enormous investment could help traders export as much as $10 billion in Indian-made goods in the next 5 years. This would help India's important campaign to export more goods that were made in India.

FedEx is certainly a competitor of Amazon. FedEx shares decreased 10% in December following alarming 2nd-quarter financial results. Amazon.com is the reason for that decrease. Amazon seems to be really winning its trade situation. Competitors are trying hard to get an advantage. For many years, package delivery from FedEx had a premium price. The company reliably delivered packages all over the world. The customers were satisfied. Amazon.com came along as a tough competitor.

FedEx hoped that the growth of e-commerce would help its operations. FedEx did invest in infrastructure and new technologies to prepare for the increase in growth. FedEx announced an 8.5% increase in capital investment in June 2018. FedEx even ordered 12 new Boeing 767 aircraft to keep up with increased cargo loads. Here's what happened in 2019: Amazon shares are up 19.2%, while FedEx shares are down 8.7%. When FedEx decided to end Amazon ground deliveries, it was a tough choice to make. FedEx is not going away any time soon, though.
