Colombia coronavirus death toll is 525



Colombia's coronavirus death toll has reached 525. Total number of confirmed virus cases is 13,610.

Colombia has stepped up anti-virus measures at the Brazil border. Authorities in Colombia are stepping up measures aimed at halting Coronavirus Covid-19 infections near the border with Brazil. This is as hospitals grow overwhelmed and cases rise in a vulnerable part of the Amazon home to many indigenous groups.

Colombia’s economic reactivation accelerated coronavirus infections. The gradual reactivation of the economy has accelerated the spread of the coronavirus Covid-19 in Colombia. Since April 27, the number of confirmed active infections has gone from 4,101 to 9,288 on Thursday when the INS said it had surpassed 500 confirmed unfortunate deaths caused by Covid-19.

    May 17, 2020 - Colombia discards international flights ‘on the short term’ amid doubts about restarting economy

    Colombia’s President Ivan Duque said Saturday that he doesn’t believe he’ll allow international air travel "in the short term" amid failures to contain the coronavirus.

    In his daily Facebook live transmission, the president expressed his doubts about, among other things, reopening the country’s airports on June 1 when a current flight ban ends.
