Funny giraffes - they got long necks and tongues

These funny tall giraffes are amazing. They sure got long necks and tongues. The giraffe is an African artiodactyl mammal. It is the tallest living terrestrial animal and the largest ruminant. It is traditionally considered to be one species, Giraffa camelopardalis, with 9 subspecies. However, the existence of up to 8 extant giraffe species has been described, based upon research into the mitochondrial and nuclear DNA, as well as morphological measurements of Giraffa. It seems that 7 other species are extinct, prehistoric species known from fossils.
