  1. Eastern Australia’s bushfires are a tough problem. Sydney faces tough water restrictions. New South Wales could create new restrictions. It’s unfortunate that the fires killed several people since October. There are currently more than 100 fires in New South Wales and Victoria states. Restrictions could be like not being allowed to water gardens during certain hours in the day. They could use a bucket or watering can, but hoses and sprinklers are banned. There are also restrictions on washing cars and filling swimming pools. Fines for breaking the rules could be something like A$220 to A$550.

Hopefully, Sydney’s dam level will not become too low. Firefighters are working on fighting the fires.

  2. Australia is having some extreme heat. People have died in fires that have destroyed over 37,000 square kilometres of bush. Firefighters are making efforts to fight the fires. It's unfortunate that many houses were destroyed. Some people stay and try to defend their properties. The sweltering heat is intense. These bushfires must be stopped.

I hope crews can continue to work successfully to identify and strengthen fire containment lines. Hopefully, the weather conditions are favorable over the coming days.
