More than half of Canadians worry about feeding family amid inflation: poll

Global News in Canada shows that about 60 per cent of Canadians surveyed in a recent poll by Ipsos done exclusively for Global News say they're concerned they might not have enough money to feed their family, a number that's up 16 percentage points from a similar poll conducted in November 2021.

Inflation currently sits at 5.7 per cent, up from the 4.7 seen in November, and economists say with the ongoing war in Ukraine putting pressure both at the gas pump and in grocery aisles, inflation likely hasn't peaked.

Darrell Bricker, CEO of Ipsos, said with the COVID-19 pandemic appearing to wind down, wider concerns like climate change and health-care are beginning to fall with affordability becoming top of mind.
