Poland: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 47,206

Coronavirus Update: Poland eases COVID-19 rules. A 3rd pandemic wave still could be a future possibility.

WION shows that COVID-19 infection rates in Poland have subsided in recent weeks. This has prompted the government to relax some of the restrictions allowing for some leisure facilities to reopen, such as swimming pools and ski resorts.

The COVID-19 pandemic in Poland is part of the global worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In February and March 2020, health authorities in Poland carried out laboratory testing of suspected cases of infection by SARS-CoV-2, 1 of the 7 known human coronaviruses, as well as home quarantining and monitoring.

As of 15 March 2021, a total of 1,917,527 confirmed cases, 1,574,455 recoveries, and 47,206 deaths have been reported in the country.

The first case of a laboratory confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection in Poland was that of a man hospitalized in Zielona Góra, with confirmation announced officially on 4 March 2020.

Peru: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 49,003

Peru: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 49,003

Peru deploys army on border with Ecuador to slow spread of COVID-19.

Al Jazeera English shows that Peru’s armed forces have tightened border security with Ecuador to prevent mostly Venezuelan migrants from crossing over. They say they are trying to stop the spread of coronavirus as hospitals in the country struggle to cope. Al Jazeera’s Teresa Bo reports from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The COVID-19 pandemic in Peru is part of the worldwide global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The virus was reported to have spread to Peru on 6 March 2020, when a 25-year-old man who had travelled to Spain, France, and the Czech Republic tested positive. On 15 March 2020, President Martín Vizcarra announced a country-wide lockdown, closing borders, restricting domestic travel, and forbidding nonessential business operations, excluding health facilities, food vendors, pharmacies, and financial institutions.

Peru has a total population of 32 million. Peru has a total of 1,002 intensive care unit (ICU) beds available as of May 2020, and was working on expanding its nationwide ventilator stock from 40 to a desired 540 machines. Engineering and production are supplied by the Peruvian Armed Forces. As of June 2020, oxygen was in short supply.

Peru is officially the Republic of Peru. This is a country in western South America. It is bordered in the north by Ecuador and Colombia, in the east by Brazil, in the southeast by Bolivia, in the south by Chile, and in the south and west by the Pacific Ocean. Peru is a megadiverse country with habitats ranging from the arid plains of the Pacific coastal region in the west to the peaks of the Andes mountains extending from the north to the southeast of the country to the tropical Amazon Basin rainforest in the east with the Amazon river. At 1.28 million km squared, Peru is the 19th largest country in the world, and the 3rd largest in South America.

Peruvian territory was home to several ancient cultures. Ranging from the Norte Chico civilization starting in 3500 BCE, the oldest civilization in the Americas and one of the 5 cradles of civilization, to the Inca Empire, the largest state in the pre-Columbian Americas, the territory now including Peru has one of the longest histories of civilization of any country, tracing its heritage back to the 4th millennia BCE.

The Spanish Empire conquered the region in the 16th century and established a viceroyalty that encompassed most of its South American territories, with its capital in Lima. Peru formally proclaimed independence in 1821.

South Africa: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 51,326

South Africa: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 51,326

South Africa has most deaths on the continent (from the Coronavirus Covid-19 Pandemic).

PBS NewsHour shows that South Africa is battling to contain a mutant strain of COVID-19 that has now been found in more than 30 other countries, including in the USA. This has prompted a raft of travel bans on South Africa. But across Africa itself, borders remain very much open on a continent that has little hope of getting enough vaccines for years to come. Special correspondent Chris Ocamringa reports.

The COVID-19 pandemic in South Africa is part of the ongoing pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). On 5 March 2020, Minister of Health Zweli Mkhize confirmed the spread of the virus to South Africa. The first certain death to have occurred from the disease was reported on 27 March 2020.

South Africa is officially the Republic of South Africa (RSA). This is the southernmost country in Africa. With over 59 million people, it is the world's 24th-most populous nation and covers an area of 1,221,037 square kilometres. South Africa has 3 capital cities: executive Pretoria, judicial Bloemfontein and legislative Cape Town. The largest city is Johannesburg.

Argentina: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 53,670

Argentina: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 53,670

Argentina health minister resigns over COVID-19 vaccine scandal.

Al Jazeera English shows that Argentine President Alberto Fernandez has sworn in a new health minister, Carla Vizzotti, as he grapples with a scandal over COVID-19 vaccines.

The now-disgraced former minister, Gines Gonzalez Garcia is accused of allowing people with connections to jump the queue and receive vaccinations out of turn.

A similar scandal erupted in Peru a few days earlier, and both governments are scrambling to regain their people’s trust.

Al Jazeera’s Daniel Schweimler reports from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The COVID-19 pandemic in Argentina is part of the global worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). On 3 March 2020, the virus was confirmed to have spread to Argentina. As of 14 March 2021, a total of 2,195,668 people were confirmed to have been infected, and 53,670 people were known to have died because of the virus. On 7 March 2020, the Ministry of Health confirmed the country's first documented death, a 64-year-old man who had travelled to Paris, France, who also had other health conditions. The case was really only confirmed as positive after the patient's demise.

On 19 March 2020, a nation-wide lockdown was established in Argentina. Responses to the outbreak have included restrictions on commerce and movement, closure of borders, and the closure of schools and educational institutions.

The meaning of the Argentina flag is interesting. The blue and white colors were chosen by Manuel Belgrano, the leader of the Argentinian revolution against Spain, and represent the blue sky parting to reveal white clouds, as is said to have happened when the Liberation demonstration began in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on May 25, 1810.

Argentina is located at a longitude that would naturally put it in the UTC−04:00 or UTC−05:00 time zone. However, it actually uses the UTC−03:00 time zone.

Argentina's official language is Spanish. Argentina has other spoken languages: Arabic, Italian, German, English, and French. There are also over one million speakers of various tribal languages, including Quecha and Guaraní.

Colombia: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 61,143

Colombia: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 61,143

CGTN America shows that Bogota (Colombia’s capital) has ordered a second citywide weekend lockdown to contain the coronavirus spreading. Hear what government officials and industry experts have to say about the new restrictions.

The COVID-19 pandemic in Colombia is part of the global worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The virus was confirmed to have reached Colombia on 6 March 2020. From 17 March to 1 September, Colombia denied entry to those who were not Colombian citizens, permanent residents or diplomats, and as of 30 September 2020, a negative PCR test result issued within 96 hours prior to departure is required to enter the country by air.

Colombia is officially the Republic of Colombia. This is a country in South America with territories in North America. Colombia is bounded on the north by the Caribbean Sea, the northwest by Panama, the south by Ecuador and Peru, the east by Venezuela, the southeast by Brazil, and the west by the Pacific Ocean. It comprises 32 departments and the Capital District of Bogotá, the country's largest city.

Colombia 2020 population is estimated at 50,882,891 people at mid year according to UN data. Colombia population is equivalent to 0.65% of the total world population. Colombia ranks number 29 in the list of countries (and dependencies) by population.

Colombia has been inhabited by various indigenous peoples since at least 12,000 BCE, including the Muisca, Quimbaya, and the Tairona.

The Spanish landed first in La Guajira in 1499 and by the mid-16th century colonized parts of the region, establishing the New Kingdom of Granada, with Santafé de Bogotá as its capital. Independence from the Spanish Empire was achieved in 1810, with what is now Colombia emerging as the United Provinces of New Granada. The new nation experimented with federalism as the Granadine Confederation (1858), and then the United States of Colombia (1863), before the Republic of Colombia was finally declared in 1886. Panama seceded in 1903, leading to Colombia's present borders.

The Colombian peso is the country's legal tender. You will find 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 peso coins and 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000 and 100,000 peso banknotes, highlighting Colombia's wealth and diversity.

How much is $200 US dollars in Colombian pesos?
For two hundred dollars you get today 715,200 pesos 00 centavos.

Meaning of Colombia Flag is interesting. Red represents the blood shed by those who fought for the nation's independence, as well as for the people's determination and perseverance. Another interpretation is that blue stands for loyalty and vigilance, red represents the victories achieved in battles, and yellow is symbolic of justice and sovereignty.

Iran bans import of UK and US Covid-19 vaccines, saying they're 'completely untrustworthy'

Iran: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 61,230

Iran bans import of UK and US Covid-19 vaccines, saying they're 'completely untrustworthy'

FRANCE 24 English shows that foreign companies will not be allowed to test Covid-19 vaccines on the Iranian people, President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday, one day after the country’s supreme leader banned the import of UK- and US-produced jabs and said they were "completely untrustworthy."

Iran recently received the first consignment of the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine Sinopharm.

The cargo of 250,000 doses of the vaccine, donated by China, was handed over to the Health Ministry, officials said.

Iran seems to be on the verge of a 4th wave of the pandemic with a spike in new cases in recent weeks in some provinces.

Earlier in February, Iran had imported the Sputnik-V vaccine from Russia, which was administered to healthcare workers and other high-risk groups in the first phase of the rollout.

Iran also has plans to import some 17 million doses of vaccine from the WHO's COVAX channel beside countries like India and South Korea, in addition to co-producing a vaccine with Cuba.

Iran is also preparing to produce a homegrown vaccine. Two vaccines manufactured by domestic knowledge-based firms have already passed the human trial phase, expected to be ready by summer.

The COVID-19 pandemic in Iran is part of the global worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). On 19 February 2020, Iran reported its first confirmed cases of infections in Qom. The virus may have been brought to the country by a merchant from Qom who had travelled to China.

In response to the Covid-19 coronavirus the government cancelled public events and Friday prayers; closed schools, universities, shopping centers, bazaars, and holy shrines; and banned festival celebrations.

Economic measures were also announced to help families and businesses.

The Iranian economy entered a third consecutive year of recession following the triple-shock of sanctions, oil market collapse and COVID-19. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) contracted by 6.8 percent in the Iranian calendar year 2019/2020 as a result of expiration of US sanctions waivers on Iran's oil exports.

Iran Standard Time (IRST) or Iran Time (IT) is the time zone used in Iran. Iran uses a UTC offset UTC+03:30. IRST is defined by the 52.5 degrees east meridian, the same meridian which defines the Iranian calendar and is the official meridian of Iran.

Between 2005 and 2008, by decree of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran did not observe daylight saving time (called Iran Daylight Time or IRDT). It was reintroduced from 21 March 2008.

The modern flag of Iran is a tri-colored green, white, red. Green represents several factors of the country. It symbolizes the Persian culture, its language, nature, growth, and vitality. White represents freedom and peace. Red symbolizes the blood of the martyr, vitality, and sophistication.

Iran 2020 population is estimated at 83,992,949 people at mid year according to UN data. Iran population is equivalent to 1.08% of the total world population.

Does Iran really have nuclear weapons? Iran maintains that it has never sought nuclear weapons and never would. It says its nuclear work only has civilian aims. Tehran began breaching the deal's curbs last year in a step-by-step response to President Donald Trump's withdrawal from the deal in May 2018 and the reimposition of USA sanctions.

Spain: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 72,258

Spain: Covid-19 Coronavirus death toll is 72,258

It seems that Spain Struggles to Contain Third Coronavirus Covid-19 Wave.

VOA News shows how vaccine delays and new virus strains threaten recovery.

In Spain, Curfew and other measures are continuing. Spain is under a nationwide curfew until early May 2021. People are only allowed out in that period to go to work, for education, to buy medicine, or care for elderly people or children.

The COVID-19 pandemic in Spain is part of the global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The dangerous virus was first confirmed to have spread to Spain on 31 January 2020, when a German tourist tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in La Gomera, Canary Islands. Post-hoc genetic analysis has shown that at least 15 strains of the virus had been imported, and community transmission began by mid-February. By 13 March, cases had been confirmed in all 50 provinces of the country.

A Spain lockdown was imposed on 14 March 2020. On 29 March, it was announced that, beginning the following day, all non-essential workers were ordered to remain at home for the next 14 days. By late March, the Community of Madrid has recorded the most cases and deaths in the country. Medical professionals and those who live in retirement homes have experienced especially high infection rates. On 25 March, the official death toll in Spain surpassed that of mainland China.

Time in Spain is interesting. Spain has 2 time zones and observes daylight saving time. Spain mainly uses Central European Time (GMT+01:00) and Central European Summer Time (GMT+02:00) in Peninsular Spain, the Balearic Islands, Ceuta, Melilla and plazas de soberanía.

The meaning of the flag of Spain is interesting. The flag of Spain is made up of colors red and yellow. Red represents the blood spilled by the bulls whereas the yellow represents the sand in the bullfighting arena. A second legend claims that the yellow represents the sun, whereas the red represents the bloodshed by the Spanish people.

Spain 2020 population is estimated at 46,754,778 people at mid year according to UN data. Spain population is equivalent to 0.6% of the total world population.

With an area of 505,990 km squared, Spain is the largest country in Southern Europe, the second-largest country in Western Europe and the European Union, and the fourth-largest country by area on the European continent.

The old name of Spain is Al-Andalus. Al-Andalus, also called Muslim Spain, Muslim kingdom that occupied much of the Iberian Peninsula from 711 ce until the collapse of the Spanish Umayyad dynasty in the early 11th century.

Spain "ruled the world" in the 16th century. The Spanish Empire existed. Habsburg Spain was a superpower and the center of the first global empire in the 16th century. It had a cultural golden age in the 17th century.

While there was no Biblical name for Spain, the people of the New Testament, in the later Roman period, would probably be familiar with the terms "Iberia" and "Hispania", being part of the empire themselves. That's probably the closest you'll get for a "Biblical name for Spain" if we discount the Tarshish theory.

The biggest geographic difference between Portugal and Spain is the size. Spain is around 5 times larger than Portugal. Both countries have Mediterranean climates, meaning they are generally temperate, with warm summers and mild winters.

Portugal (as a separate kingdom) existed before Spain. Spain was created from the marital union of the king of Aragon and the queen of Castille, this new kingdom became Spain. Portugal did not get into a similar union hence they stayed an independent kingdom. Spain became a country centuries after Portugal was formed.
