Boeing's 737 Max production halt significantly affected the USA economy

Boeing's 737 issues were pretty bad for the USA economy. Boeing's 737 Max problem could cut 0.5 percentage points from USA GDP. Boeing recently decided to halt 737 Max production in January. This will cut 0.5% from GDP growth in the first quarter of 2020, analysts say. This particular model is Boeing's bestselling plane.

The production pause is bad for Boeing's supply chain. The company already has 400 undelivered planes in storage.

The "production" component of GDP includes investment in inventory or fixed assets.

The Boeing Company is an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and sells airplanes, rotorcraft, rockets, satellites, telecommunications equipment, and missiles pretty much worldwide. Boeing also provides leasing and product support services.

The company has interesting projects all over the world. Boeing has conducted autonomous teamed flights using small, unmanned jet aircraft in Australia. The flights involved 2 small aircraft and is part of its efforts to develop its Airpower Teaming System (ATS).

In the future, they will try more complex manoeuvres, increasing teaming formation numbers and more complex missions.

There is footage on the company’s social media accounts that shows 2 aircraft taking off and performing basic manoeuvres in the air together. The aircraft look small. They are remote-controlled aircraft with fixed landing gear. Boeing says they successfully hit speeds of 152kt (300kph).

      More interesting news:

Mar 1, 2021 - China still has 'major concerns' about Boeing's 737 Max

China still has major safety concerns about Boeing Co.’s 737 Max, the deputy head of the country’s aviation regulator said Monday when asked if it was certainly considering following others in allowing the plane to fly again.

Once issues have been fully addressed, China will conduct an important final review of the aircraft, Dong Zhiyi said at a briefing in Beijing. Authorities have been in "full communication" with Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration, he said.

China, a crucial market for Boeing and the Max, was the 1st country to impose a ban on the aircraft after a crash in Ethiopia in March 2019 that killed 157 people. The previous October, a Max jet operated by Indonesia’s Lion Air plunged into the Java Sea, claiming 189 lives. Both disasters were partly blamed on software that pushed the planes into nosedives.

    2. The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought you have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.

  2. The Industry Sector is Aerospace. The top 10 competitors for Boeing are:

    Lockheed Martin
    Northrop Grumman
    Raytheon
    General Dynamics
    SpaceX
    BAE Systems
    Airbus
    Bombardier
    Embraer
    Loral Space & Communications.

Duopoly is a form of oligopoly. It exists in a market when 2 companies control nearly all the market share of a product or service. There are increasing threats to the dominance of Airbus and Boeing. This particularly in the area of the market dominated by the Airbus 320 and the Boeing 737.

    1. Thanks for liking the discussions. The Boeing Company is interesting. www.boeing.com - Today, the company manufactures the 737, 747, 767, 777 and 787 families of airplanes and the Boeing Business Jet range. New product development efforts include the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, the 737 MAX, and the 777X.

The Boeing 737-800 and its next-generation counterpart, the MAX series, are the 3rd and 4th generations of the American manufacturer's popular short-haul airliner. The latter has the latest technology, exemplary fuel efficiency, and certainly more advanced construction than its predecessors.

  7. There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith.

APRIL 30, 2021 - FAA issues new Boeing 737 Max Airworthiness Directive prompted by recent electrical issues

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on April 30 certainly issued a new Airworthiness Directive (AD) for specific Boeing 737-8 and 737-9 aircraft. The directive comes on the heels of Boeing’s April 9 announcement, which stated that during standard production testing, an urgent safety issue was discovered involving an electrical bonding and grounding issue in a newly manufactured so-called Max 8 plane.

June 16, 2021 - The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Wednesday issued a directive for Boeing Co (BA.N) requiring operators of 737 MAX airplanes to conduct additional inspections for the plane's so-called automated flight control system.

The directive makes mandatory instructions released by Boeing in December that recommend planes with more than 6,000 flight hours be subject to specific certain electronic checks.
